AIRTEL DLINK VDSL Router with 40 MBPS Intermittent disconnect issues

AIRTEL DLINK VDSL Router with 40 MBPS Intermittent disconnect issues

This issue is something which was making me go crazy as suddenly after some amount of time I get a red Internet light on my VDSL router.

However, I fixed with a minor change and this is what you need to do as well.

Open command prompt and type ipconfig. Locate the default gateway and enter it in the URL of the browser like http://192.168.1.1
(the default gateway might differ at your end) . If you are getting IP address starting with 169.x.x.x then you need to reset your router using toothpick or safety pin as the reset hole is too small in these devices. This reset button needs to pressed for atleast 30 seconds and you will notice the power light goes red and then green.

Now, you will get a valid IP and Default gateway when you do the ipconfig in command prompt.

The login username of DLINK is admin and password is admin. If you have changed it then enter that password else you can reset the router and try admin as username and password. For some router, the password is " password". If still password is not working for you then contact your ISP (AIRTEL, MTNL etc.) and ask for your dsl username and password, then try this password to login to DLINK webpage.

Once you are in the DLINK webpage, click on Setup > Local Network and then DHCP server.

Add the DNS Servers 202.56.215.54 in one text box and 202.56.215.55 in the other.Click Apply changes, restart your computer and router. You will never face DLINK VDSL Router Intermittent disconnect issues.

This is how I fixed the " AIRTEL DLINK VDSL Router with 40 MBPS Intermittent disconnect issues"
